As the official disc jockey for the Bacardi World Salsa
Congress, Henry Knowles is the DJs disc jockey, spinning
that tension-building beat and filling dancers with ánimo.
Originally from New York City and of Puerto Rican-French-English
descent, Henry's love for the music that makes his blood
flow was born during the afternoon rains and family parties
of his childhood summers in Puerto Rico. On this tropical
island, he found his soul—and learned to dance. A
dancer all his life—"My heart beats on clave"—he
is known to hold his own and understands how to honor and
inspire a Salsero on the dance floor.
Henry is the consummate professional with more than 20
years of experience catering to the serious Salsero. Henry
has acted as a disc jockey, master of ceremonies, sound
engineer, video jockey and promoter working in major nightclubs
and venues around the world throughout his career span.
14 years ago Henry became the official disc jockey for "Salsa
in the Catskills." He is also the official disc jockey
for LaMusica.com.
This very special disc jockey's mixing abilities are unmatched

the music in his veins, he carries his passion for Latin
culture and music in his work. His breadth of knowledge
about Salsa music and its history, his music library, and
ability to read his audience while creating un ambiente

of "World's #1 Salsa DJ." He is well known and
acknowledged as the Salseros DJ in the Latin music industry
and has collaborated with professional dancers, recording
artists, musicians, recording labels and the media.
Henry Knowles' career nearly translates into Salsa evangelism
as he spreads the beat and his love for tropical rhythms
on a global scale. His extensive travels include gigs throughout
Latin America, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe—even
Japan. He believes his travels are also an opportunity to
share his skills, talents and experience with aspiring disc
jockeys. Admired as the "DJs DJ," Henry often
holds workshops wherever he happens to be, sharing with
his comrades on how to work a floor and the latest and most
effective mixing techniques.
Henry is president of HK Entertainment, which is a complete
entertainment company that represents and provides disc
jockeys, bands, professional dancers, comedians, light shows
and state of the art sound systems for a wide range of clientele.
His media exposure and client list are impressive.
Has appeared as on-air disc jockey "mixing live"
for La Mega 97.9FM "Fiesta Con Polito" from Latin
Quarter Nightclub in New York City; also featured on-air
disc jockey on Thanksgiving, Christmas and other special
events in which he was interviewed and his mixes were showcased.
